Product Description Formally known as Black No12. Change or renew the colour of your clothes and soft furnishings with this easy to use machine fabric dye, that won't wash out. For use in automatic front loading machines only. Suitable fabrics: cotton, linen, viscose and polyester/cotton mixes. Lighter shades on polyester mixes because pure synthetics do not pick up the dye. Not suitable for wool, silk, polyester, acrylic, nylon and other synthetic fibres or fabric with special finishes e.g. 'dry clean' only. One pack will dye up to 600g /1lb dry weight fabric. Dyeing larger amounts (up to 1200g) will give a lighter colour. Final colour depends on the original fabric colour e.g. sunflower dye on red fabric will give orange.
Customer Reviews: Dylon black dyeJune 15, 2010 G. A. Morrison(South Lanarkshire) Worked really well and has given an old duvet set a new lease of life.
Amazing stuffMarch 2, 2010 Mouldy Old Tartlet(London W1) After reading the reviews before using the product (esp. possible problems re. dying future washes) I made every effort to follow its instructions to the letter ... and was very pleased with the results.
I'd had in my possession a skirt that fitted me to a tee - however, I could no longer wear it as it had become part-faded and looked rather weird and patchy! Deciding that I'd rather give this dye a try than bin my old faithful, I duly undertook the dying process this Saturday just gone. Not expecting much (the skirt was very old and very faded and, according to the instructions, might not dye as dark due to its polyester/viscose mix) I was however amazed at the finished results. And, after carefully following the instructions (inc. running an empty wash in the machine at 40C after the dying process), have had no problems re. dying further washes.
I would definitely recommend this product and am now thinking about revitalising a pair of faded old black jeans that I thought would end up abandoned in the back of my wardrobe forever!
Dylon Black dyeNovember 21, 2009 Ms. A. A. Phipps 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product to dye my daughters cardigan and some jeans, i put them in the machine and they came out good enough. the cardigan came out jet black and my daughter loved it. though the jeans (which were nearly white) came out a dark navy blue but its a very nice colour, the thread stayed the same colour and it doesnt look like i dyed them at all. the dye did stain my washing machine but when i but some bleach in it it was fine. i think this product is very good though i wouldnt dye jeans with it again.
