Customer Reviews: Fun, colourful and liked by a babyJuly 24, 2010 vene2ia(London, England) I bought this phone for my son when he was 9 months old and indeed he wasn't too interested in it. Since it's 12+ months toy my son started to pay interest in it from around 11 months old. now he presses all the buttons and puts it to his ear as with a real phone. There are lots of nice tunes, colour buttons and interaction. the toy is sturdy as it hit a floor quite a few times and remained intact. definitely money well spent.
Partial recommendationJuly 13, 2010 Mrs G My son did play with this toy although I think he was more interested in the little red antennae at the top and the flashing lights. The sound is very low and there is no obvious way of being able to turn it up so you have to get up really close to the toy to hear what is being said.
ok but very quietJuly 11, 2010 Elle(London) This is quite a nice little toy - possibly better for babies who are old enough to be learning numbers etc - my 7 month old just likes chewing on it for now and bashing the buttons, but he seems less interested by it than other similar toys (and much less interested in it than in real phones unfortnately!) I think it'll grow on him as he gets older, but the reason for my giving it only 3 stars is that it is incredibly quiet. I did read this in other comments before buying (ie it's quiet as babies toys with sound deliberately have the sound set below a certain level so as not to damage their hearing or something) but it's very quiet indeed and you really struggle to hear what it's saying - it's much quieter than all the other toys with sound that I've come across.
Mobile toy phoneJuly 7, 2010 empressdivine The volume on this phone is too too low, if the television is on you can just about hear this phone. I had to place it close to my ears to understand what was being said and to hear the music. When you first press the buttons it's loud, when you pull out the safety strip it then becomes low. The reason seems to be because of some safety law. Personally, my child plays supervised at all times as he is 8months. I would have preferred a volume switch built in to determine the level I want for my child. Personally, I wouldn't purchase or recommend for anyone. If children are going to play with this product they might as well use imaginary play for the sounds and parents don't bother to put batteries in.
it's good to talk!!July 2, 2010 neil_southend After just a month of taking this phone in his car seat everywhere, our son now holds it up to his ear and tries to talk! Especially if he thinks Daddy is calling! He listens and smiles to the different voices and now copies us when we use our phones. Excellent purchase with hours of fun!
